Deutsch: Kuppelfresko des Prunksaales der Österreichischen Nationalbibliothek in der österreichischen Bundeshauptstadt Wien.
Die Bibliothek mit dem barocken Prunksaal wurde von 1723 bis 1726 von Joseph Emanuel Fischer von Erlach nach Plänen seines Vaters, dem Hofarchitekten Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach errichten. Die Deckenfresken stammen von dem Hofmaler Daniel Gran, der diese bis 1730 fertigstellte. Das Deckenfresko der Kuppel, die einen ovalen Grundriss mit den Maßen 18 m und 29,2 m und eine Höhe von 29,2 m hat, stellt die Apotheose Kaiser Karls VI., dem Bauherrn der Hofbibliothek, mit einer Allegorie auf die Erbauung der Bibliothek dar. |
