| Description |
Deutsch: Der Deutschmeisterplatz zwischen der Maria-Theresien-Straße und dem Schottenring im 1. Wiener Gemeindebezirk Innere Stadt mit dem Deutschmeister-Denkmal und dahinter die Rossauer Kaserne. Der Platz wurde am 26. September 1876 zu Ehren des 1696 gegründeten und bis 1918 bestehenden Wiener Hausregiments k.u.k. Infanterieregiment „Hoch- und Deutschmeister“ Nr. 4 benannt. Das im Zentrum des Platzes befindliche Deutschmeister-Denkmal wurde anlässlich des 200-Jahre-Bestandsjubiläums des Regiments 1896 gestiftet und am 29. September 1906 feierliche enthüllt. |
