Deutsch: Die vom Betrachter aus gesehen linke (heraldisch rechte) Hälfte des Wappens symbolisiert die ehemalige selbständige Gemeinde Ottakring. Bei den symbolisierten Bergen handelt es sich vermutlich um die drei wichtigsten Erhebungen Ottakrings: Jubiläumswarte, Gallitzinberg und Predigtstuhl. Das Kreuzschild mit Mitra steht hingegen für den ehemaligen Grundherren, das Stift Klosterneuburg. Die rechte (heraldisch linke) Hälfte des Wappens symbolisiert die unklare Namensherleitung der ehemaligen, selbständigen Gemeinde Neulerchenfeld. Ein auf einem Feld stehender Baum (allerdings keine Lärche) mit darüber kreisenden Vögeln (evtl. Lerchen) weist auf die möglichen Ursprünge des Namens hin.
