Description

Me and my friend John had a great sunny Sunday afternoon out at Whitgift School watching Surrey play Hampshire in the Clydesdale Bank 40 over competion, On the small ground with a beautiful batting wicket both sides scored heavily but Surrey's huge total put just too much pressure on the Hampshire batsmen though they did get quite close.

Here we see the ex England fast bowler, Simon Jones getting up a head of steam at the start of Surrey's innings. A very talented if troubled cricketer whose career has been blighted by a terrible knee injury incurred at Brisbane during the first test of the ill-fated Ashes series against Australia in 2002/3. It was great to see him again bowling at over 90mph. A great sight for all lovers of the game.
