English: A small chicken-like bird stands on a patch of snow. The lower part of the bird is white, but the head and neck is mottled grey. To blend into their surroundings, White-tailed Ptarmigan are mottled grey-brown in summer and pure white in winter. This bird is captured mid-transition.
