English: Wheat below Woodborough. Hill Woodborough Hill, alongside Picked Hill, is one of a pair a chalk hills that rise from the greensand of the Vale of Pewsey but detached from the scarp of the downs to the north. The small wood is just south of the top and mostly consists of beeches. Strip lynchets (ancient cultivation terraces) are present on the steep land below but concealed by scrubby woodland. |
