Last night was a bit wild and windy. Our water tank fell over then spewed about 2000 litres of water over the backyard (sob) it looked like someone had a go at it with a can opener.It missed Eriks car by a couple of feet.Fortunately we have another water tank up the back that is still OK. The garden arches that are covered with beautiful climbing roses was also another victim. The supports snapped and they now lean drunkenly towards the shed. We had a canvas awning destroyed, my lorikeet wind whirlybird, lost a wing and my tree dahlias where snapped off. My garden looks like a giant has trampled through it. I am not complaining as all these things can be fixed (except for the tank) and the garden will recover. Unfortunately others have had more damage and the Central Coast/Newcastle/ Hunter region has been declared a Disaster area. I am worried about my father as he lives at Dora Creek as this area has suffered from flooding, the water is up in his yard at the moment |
