| Description |
English: Western Education & Library Board in the snow. Being a weekend, the offices are deserted and there are no tracks in the driveway. It reminds me of my younger years when I first worked there in the maintenance department in the mid 1960s. Some of us used to go in at night to study for exams as the premises were not secured off prior to the troubles. The added attraction was to take the car and do hand-break turns in the snow - sounds not to responsible, but then we were young and foolish.
The former inhabitants of Campsie house as it was known as in the late 1800s and early 1900s were the Fleming family, they are interred in Drumragh graveyard - see 1707326 Hans Beresford Fleming 1852-1916 had 9 children. It is also said that Hans and Emily built 8 tennis courts and a golf course and a racing showground in Omagh. |
