On verso "Warren's/ Portraits/ 465 Washington St./ Boston." In pencil "Mrs. J.G. Thorp/ 115 Brattle St./ Cambridge, Mass." In ink at right, "Craigie House-Cambridge". Probably 1875-1882 when photographer active at this address (Steele and Polito, Directory of Mass. Photographers, 1839-1900). Received from Agnes Swift in 1982. Donor received photo from the estate of Miss Anne Thorp, daughter of Anne Allegra Longfellow Thorp.
