Description
English: West Face (entrance) of the Larger Shiva Temple, Gedong Songo III.

The temple is entered on the west side, where Nandishvara and Mahakala, the canonical dvarapalas (guardians) of Shiva's temples, flank the doorway. Nandishvara, on the left, holds a water pot; Mahakala, on the right, holds a club. A nearly-erased kala on the lintel, and worn makara heads beneath the niches, are almost all that remains of the kala-makara arch that originally framed the doorway.
