| Description |
English: Beet train at Wellington Bridge A CIE 001 class locomotive prepares to leave Wellington Bridge with laden sugar beet heading for the processing factory at Mallow. Once a major traffic flow on the CIE network, sugar beet loading was eventually reduced to only the facility at Wellington Bridge on the Rosslare Strand - Waterford line. Following changes in EU subsidies, all beet production ended in Ireland in 2006. The railway line closed in 2010. See also S8513 : Wellington Bridge station at night |
