Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: Welcome to the land of the Frozen Bishops Underneath their coating of snow the two signs say "Welcome to Teesdale" and "County Durham Land of the Prince Bishops". Snow was drifting in a freshening NW breeze and I used this space only as the first turning place I had found after coming up from the north for a ski tour on the tops. It turned out that the snow was sufficiently unconsolidated that the going across the moor was sheer purgatory and only 175m from the road I decided that the summit of Hoove would have to wait for the snow to settle before seeing my skis again ! |
