Weismann's experiment that disproved the inheritance of acquired characteristics theory.

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Weismann cut the tail of mice and mate them. The offspring still had a long tail. He again cut the tail of offspring and mate it with another mouse whose tail was also cut. Their offspring still had a long tail. He repeated this experiment for 22 generations, but cutting tail did not result in the short tail phenotype in newborn mice.
