Description
English: World War II uniform model 1943 and personal equipment of a Gebirgsjäger| (light infantry mountain trooper) of Wehrmacht Heer, the army of Nazi Germany:
  • Ski cap, peaked field cap (Bergmütze, Einheitsmütze, Einheitsfeldmütze) with ear flaps and two button front closure
    • Trapezoid insignia/cloth cap badge with army style German eagle-and-swastika emblem, called Wehrmachtsadler/Heeresadler ('armed forces/army eagle'), and wreathed tri-colour cockade worn as national insignia/emblem (Hoheitszeichen)
    • Metal badge on left side of cap, depicting an Edelweiss flower as traditional emblem for the mountain or alpine troops
  • Goggles
  • Field tunic (Feldbluse M43). The M43 was introduced in 1942 and came into common use in 1943. Simplifications included the elimination of bellows pockets and the simple squaring of pocket flaps.
  • Individual carrying equipment
  • German stick grenade (Stielhandgranate)
Exhibits on display at Hjemmefrontmuseet Rakkestad, a local museum in Rakkestad, Norway focusing on the war in German occupied Norway 1940 – 1945.
