Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Weed cutting craft at Isleham These strange-looking craft are used by the Environment Agency to remove weed from the River Lark at Isleham. The prongs at the front are used to scoop up the weed, which is then deposited in barges or on the river bank. According to their website, the Environment Agency spends around £8 million per year on weed removal in England and Wales to ensure that rivers flow freely in their natural channels.
