Water tower in Missippi Delta town of Rosedale

Summary[edit]

Description
English: Rosedale is a town in the Mississippi Delta famous for the blues. It is near the historic 'cross roads where legend holds that founding bluesman Robert Johnson sold his soul to the Devil for his talent. Eric Clapton wrote 'Going down to Rosedale' in 'Cream's' famous remake of Robert Johnson's 'Crossroads blues'. Rosedale has been the site of many Blues Festivals. Like many Delta towns, Rosedale suffers economically, and while blues history was made here, the future is uncertain. The tower is iconic of this.
