Although the University of Washington Libraries text says the "The New Washington Hotel is under construction at … far right, it would appear that the New Washington Hotel (later Josephinum) is actually under construction at left. Note, in particular the annotation written on the photo. At far right is actually the hotel built 1907, originally called the Hotel Washington Annex, then (from 1922) Hotel Gowman and finally (from 1951 until it was demolished in 1969) Stewart Hotel.
