Summary[edit]

Description

The U.S. Capitol building from the Washington Monument in 1988. The Senate Office Buildings are to the left of the Capitol, and the House Office Buildings are to the right. The National Gallery of Art (Mellon Gallery) is at lower left. I believe the Air and Space Museum is at lower right.

D.C. Stadium (later Robert F. Kennedy Staduim) is beyond the Capitol, and the D.C. Armory is to its right. You could not park on the Mall in 1988. The Washington area had become larger and more populous, and less livable.
