Description
English: Coconut fibre armour and Porcupine fish helmet of Nauru. Exhibit in the Oceanic collection of the Staatlichen Museums für Völkerkunde München, Maximilianstraße 42, Munich, Germany. Warrior suit, Nauru, 1891.
Deutsch: Kokosfaserrüstung eines Kriegers aus Nauru. Vergleichbare Ganzkörperschutzwaffen kamen auch auf Kiribati (gilbertesisch: Te tanga ni buaka) und Tuvalu vor. Die Abbildung zeigt ein Ausstellungsstück des Staatlichen Museums für Völkerkunde in München, erworben 1891. - In der Vitrine unten rechts ist ein Igelfischhelm zu sehen. Zur Bewaffnung gehören Haizahnwaffen, hier zu sehen ist ein Stoßspeer.
