Deutsch: Das Gerichtssiegel des 18. Jahrhunderts zeigt als Symbol für den heiligem Martin nur ein einfaches Hufeisen mit abwärsgekehrten Stollen. Die Gemeinde führte dieses Siegel als Wappen weiter und betrachtete es irrtümlich als genehmigt. So wurde es auch von Hupp abgebildet. Zur Unterscheidung von den vielen pfälzischen Gemeinden mit einfachen Hufeisenwappen wurde der dem Ort seinen Namen gebende heilige Martin zu Ross und seinen Mantel teilend hinzugefügt. Schildhaupt und Lilien sind dem Wappen der Kämmerer von Dalberg entnommen, die als Lehnsträger des Bischofs von Speyer Herren der Kropsburg über St. Martin waren. |
