Wappenbeschreibung:

In gespaltenem Schild vorn in Gold eine rote Kapelle, hinten in Blau ein durchgehendes geschliffenes silbernes Kreuz.

Die heutige Stadt Waghäusel entstand im Januar 1975 durch den Zusammenschluss von Kirrlach, Waghäusel und Wiesental. Im Jahr 1977 wurde der neuen Großgemeinde ein eigenes Wappen verliehen. Die Kapelle im vorderen Feld bezieht sich auf den Ursprung des für die neue Gemeinde namensgebenden Stadtteils Waghäusel.

 	Im Jahre 1472 wurde an der Stelle, an welcher 1435 ein Schäfer ein wundertätiges Madonnenbild entdeckt haben soll, die Kapelle "Zum Waghus" erbaut, die bald zu einem vielbesuchten Wallfahrtsort wurde. Das Speyerer Kreuz erinnert an die einstige Zugehörigkeit aller drei Stadtteile zum Territorium des Bistums Speyer.
