| Description |
English: Waiting area - Halifax station This view is from the bottom of the stair from the bridge. As part of the station refurbishments new flooring has been laid and the steelwork has been repainted. The cream coloured metal work was installed in the 1980s to create a semi enclosed waiting area.
At the time the photo was taken the glazing panels and seating had not be reinstated, and the doors to the waiting room had not been repainted. By the late autumn this had been done, although there are still no sliding doors - these were removed several years earlier. The white-on-black BR sign indicating the destinations has since been replaced with a new one in Northern's white-on-blue corporate style, as has other signage on the platforms. |
