Deutsch: Wäschepresse (Linnenpresse) aus dunkel gebeiztem Holz um die Tisch- und Bettwäsche glattzupressen.Sie ist besonders zum Glätten relativ großer Textilprodukte geeignet. Die Wäsche wurde sorgfältig zusammengelegt, unter dem „Spindelbrett“ gestapelt und durch Anziehen der Schraube bis zu zwölf Stunden in eine glatte Form gepresst. Dies Verfahren schadete jedoch bei zu häufigem Pressen der Wäsche, da an den eingepressten Falten die Leinenfasern mit der Zeit brüchig wurden. Eine Besonderheit bei diesem komplett aus Holz gefertigten Exemplar ist, dass sich die Schraube unmittelbar über dem Spindelbrett und nicht oben an der Spindel befindet. |
