Description
English: Photo taken at the Lofoten War Memorial Museum (Norwegian: Lofoten Krigsminnemuseum) in Svolvær, Norway's largest exhibition of uniforms and smaller items related to the Second World War and the German occupation of Norway 1940 – 1945:
  • Mannequin dressed in a Waffen-SS uniform winter suit (Winteranzug, Winterausrüstung) and equipped as a German WWII soldier serving on the North front (Nordfront):
    • White snow camouflage cold weather smock, jacket, parka (hooded, padded coat) and trousers in a two-piece coverall oversuit
    • Stahlhelm, German military steel helmet, with a SS runes helmet decal, chin strap, etc.
    • Knitted woolen gloves and sweater
    • Studded boots
    • German belt and Y-straps (Trageriemen, suspension straps) for carrying field gear (personal military equipment) and combat equipment (Kampfausrüstung)
    • SS belt buckle (Koppelschloß) with eagle-and-swastika (Hakenkreuzadler) and Meine Ehre heisst Treue ( "My honor is called loyalty") motto
    • MP 40 (Maschinenpistole 40, Schmeisser), German submachine gun used extensively by the Axis powers during World War II
    • Set of ammunition magazine pouches (Magazintaschen), two double 3-cell pouch for 6 MP40 magazines and smaller pouch for cleaning kit
    • Camouflage painted binoculars (Fernglas)
    • Daimon military flashlight, issued by the Wehrmacht, the armed forces of Nazi Germany
  • Mannequins in traditional Sámi fur clothing (winter garments):
    • Men's hooded beaska (peski, pesk), a coat made of reindeer fur, "Four Winds hat (šávká, čiehgahpir, firevinders-lue, stjernelue), etc.
    • Girl's costume of reindeer fur, with hide slippers, etc.
  • Taxidermied reindeer (Ragnifer Tarandus)
