Description
English: Military equipment used during the Nazi German invasion and occupation of Norway in World War 2:
Beginning in 1940 the Army ceased issuing jackboots (Marschstiefel, "marching boots") to rear-area personnel and authorized the wearing of the ankle-height work utility boots (Schnürschuhe, "lace-up shoes") with the field uniform. From 1941 Schnürschuhe were authorized for combat units as well, and the only footgear issued to new recruits; by 1943 their wear had become universal.
