Theatrum biblicum (serietitel) Objecttype: prent Objectnummer: RP-P-OB-103.836 Catalogusreferentie: Hollstein Dutch 269-5(5) Opschriften / Merken: verzamelaarsmerk, verso, gestempeld: Lugt 2228 Omschrijving: Maria geeft Christus de borst, terwijl zij op de ezel zit tijdens de vlucht naar Egypte. Jozef leidt de ezel. Op de achtergrond de kindermoord te Betlehem en de legende van het snel groeiende koren. Enkele soldaten te paard vragen aan een boer of hij een familie voorbij heeft zien gaan. De boer vertelt dat hij het gezin zag toen hij het koren inzaaide. Daarop concluderen de soldaten dat dat erg lang geleden moet zijn en zij staken de zoektocht. Rechts tegen de boom een figuur met een zon op zijn hoofd. Wellicht heeft hij het koren snel laten groeien. Onder de voorstelling een verwijzing in het Latijn naar de Bijbeltekst in Mat. 2.
