Notes The subtle effects of chiaroscuro, confirms to be the work from artist's later period of work. The seascapes with silhouettes of ships are more rare in his drawings than in paintings. Also attributed to de Vlieger master w. van de Velde the Elder by J. Mueller Hofstede.
