Description
Español: La Virgen María sostiene en los brazos al Niño Jesús. Los contemplan María Magdalena, el Hijo Pródigo y el rey David, que simbolizan tres pecados de sendos pecadores arrepentidos: prostitución, prodigalidad y adulterio. La obra fue propiedad del duque de Medina de las Torres, en el Nápoles virreinal. Pasó luego a Amberes y finalmente decoró la antesacristía del monasterio del Escorial con Felipe IV, a mediados del XVII. Más adelante llegó a la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando, primero en sus almacenes y después abandonado (probablemente por considerarse una copia de Van Dyck) en uno de los peines donde se conservan las obras no expuestas de la Real Academia de Bellas Artes.
