Description
The painting was also described as Caledonia udfor Sølyst, which raised a lot of issues. The Caledonia - the first steamship under Danish flag - was laid up in 1834, so Fauerholdt never saw it, and it had only one mast, and not two as in the painting. At the 2001 auction the text had been altered to Caledonia ud for Klampenborg, which really did not improve things.
