In the foreground are the boulders, bracken and grass with occasional conifers typical of this elevation on Sour Milk Gill. At slightly higher elevations, the bracken is largely replaced with heather (see, for example, 320315). In the distance to the right are the pleasant patchwork of fields and woods in the Buttermere valley, with the slopes of Grasmoor rising behind |
