| Description |
English: Vauxhall Bridge (1) The current bridge was built between 1904 and 1906 replacing the earlier Regent's Bridge of 1816. The bridge was designed by the engineer Sir Alexander Binnie and built by Petwick Brothers. The bridge is 809 feet or about 247 metres long with five steel arches mounted on granite piers. Above the four piers in the river, and on each side of the bridge, are four bronze figures representing the arts and the sciences. The cost of the bridge was £437,000. |
