| Description |
English: Vastern Road railway bridge This is the rather ugly bridge taking Vastern Road, the eastern part of Reading's inner ring road, underneath the Great Western main line just to the east of Reading Station. The road carriageway used to be at the same level as the pedestrian footways to the right and left, and there were special low height double-decker buses built to allow for the restricted headroom (13 feet I believe). In the late 1970s the road was lowered to allow full height double decker buses to use it, so here we see a single decker bus on the route. |
