Both trolleys andelevated trains cross the bridge, but so many pillarsand posts are in the way that any attempt to obtaina good sight of the river and bay is foredoomed tofailure. The fountain that stands in the park is located a littlenorth of where the first fountain stood, which was erectedin 1842, when running water was first introduced intoNew York. The building corner of Frankfort Street and ParkRow, occupied for sixty years by the Sun is on thesite of the original Tammany Hall headquarters. Thiswas their first permanent location.
