Description

Fontana Le village de Fontana est le plus étendu du Val Bavona. Les maisons et les étables, épousant les plis dus à la configuration du terrain, sont nées au milieu de gigantesques blocs de pierre que les terriens ont ingénieusement utilisés comme caves, bergeries, ainsi que prés suspendus. Des champs ont été ainsi gagnés, non sans peine, grâce à ces ‘’sòstene’’*. Fontana fut également dévasté par un éboulement extrêmement violent. Pour rappeler cette catastrophe, à quelques pas des maisons, on peut lire, gravée sur une roche, cette phrase lapidaire : ‘’GIESU MARIA ? 1594 ? QUI FU BELA CAMPAGNIA’’ (Jésus Marie + 1594 + ici notre terre fut belle) Fondazione Valle Banova
