English: Retired Marine Corps Maj. Lawrence Joseph Bender III shows a picture of his granddaughter, an active duty sergeant, to Marines from 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion, based in Tampa Bay, Fla., during a dinner held at the Strongsville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3345 in Strongsville, Ohio, June 12. The VFW held the dinner for more than 45 Marines in Cleveland for Marine Week Cleveland, who are stationed at various military installations in the United States. More than 750 Marines will celebrate community, country and Corps during Marine Week Cleveland which ends June 17. Various displays showcase Marine Corps equipment, aircraft and technology and are available for viewing at Gateway Plaza, Public Square and Voinovich Park. |
