English: This woodcut print by Kubo Shunman, (not Utamaro) shows a party dining at restaurant Shikian (ca. 1786).
Français : Cette estampe de Kubo Shunman (et non d'Utamaro) montre une réception au restaurant Shikian (le restaurant "Quatre Saisons", l'un des plus renommés et des plus exclusifs d'Edo), vers 1786. Cette estampe se trouve au British Museum, et la rectification de l'attribution à Kubo Shunman (1757 - 1820) provient des informations figurant sur le site du British Museum. Le couple assis à droite joue à "Attrapez le renard !" (kitsume ken), un jeu qui ressemble un peu à "caillou, papier, ciseaux". A côté d'eux, deux geishas accordent leur shamisen et s'apprêtent à jouer. |
