Outside of Page, AZ there are two slot canyons open to the public if visited with a Navajo guide. Upper Antelope is where these two photos were taken and requires a fifteen minute ride in 4-wheel drive. Lower Antelope Canyon and the top of the slot is visible from Highway 89. Lower is where 12 people perished in 1997 and this link shows a recent flash flood event in early August, 2013 (© David Rankin). The relevant part of the video is at the start where you see the water moving under two bridges. Look just downstream of the bridges where you see the water essentially disappear underground and then create a lake hundreds of yards beyond the bridges.
