Summary[edit]

Description
English: Ubehebe Crater near Death Valley, created by a volcanic steam explosion, offers an unusual look at the local geology by creating a natural cross-section of the subsurface. Towards the center of the image, the shifted layers reveal recent earthquake activity that has also created a fault scarp at the rim of the crater.
