English: ARABIAN SEA (Feb. 13, 2012) Capt. Jim Landers, commanding officer of the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), and Col. Michael Hudson, commanding officer of the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (11th MEU), lead a crowd of Sailors and Marines while recording a motivational video message to demonstrate support for Florida State University students participating in Dance Marathon. Dance Marathon is a fundraiser for the Children's Miracle Network and Shands Children's Hospital in Gainesville, Fla. Makin Island and embarked Marines assigned to the 11th MEU are deployed supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
