The conference reached an estimated 4,000 4th, 6th and 8th-grade students from the island, home of the Navy's largest calibration lab in the Pacific, the Pearl Harbor Calibration Laboratory, and featured hands-on science and engineering exhibits by Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Corona Division and Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific, who used the opportunity to support Navy Secretary Ray Mabus' science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education outreach priorities - inspire, engage, educate, employ and collaborate - to strengthen the service's future workforce.
