English: PEARL HARBOR (July 5, 2010) Chief Fire Controlman Jeffrey Mauldin, assigned to the littoral combat ship USS Freedom (LCS 1) explains the fire control system for the ship's Mk-110 57mm gun to Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Rear Adm. Kazuki Yamashita during a tour of the ship's mission control center. Freedom is participating in Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2010, a biennial, multinational exercise designed to strengthen regional partnerships and improve interoperability. (U.S. Navy photo by Lt.
