English: SOUDA BAY, Greece (July 11, 2009) Naval Support Activity, Souda Bay civilian firefighters mop up the remnants of a brush fire near the village of Pazinos in western Crete. For the second time in as many weeks Naval Support Activity received a request for firefighting assistance from local officials. The U.S Navy quickly responded to the call for help deploying 13 firefighters, a command vehicle, a fire engine, a brush truck and a water tanker to the scene. The fire was extinquished within a couple of hours through the joint efforts of the local Chania fire department, the Hellenic military and NSA firefighters.
