English: BOSTON (July 4, 2007) – The USS Wasp (LHD 1) color guard presents the colors while conductor Keith Lockhart leads the world renowned Boston Pops through “The Star-Spangled Banner,” at the opening ceremony of the annual Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular on the Charles River Esplanade. The nationally broadcast performance by the famous orchestra was the grand finale of nearly 250 events scheduled during Boston Harborfest 2007 and Boston Navy Week. The week is one of 26 Navy Weeks planned across America in 2007. Navy Weeks are designed to show Americans the investment they have made in their Navy and increase awareness in cities that do not have a significant Navy presence.
