Description
English: OAK HARBOR, Wash. (May 7, 2007) - Commanding Officer, Naval Air Station Whidbey Island (NASWI), Captain Syd Abernethy, holds the giant scissors while, to his right, Navy Region Northwest Operations Director, Rick Metzger, and to his left, Navy Region Northwest Fire Chief, John Arruda, get ready to participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony. Firefighters from Navy Region Northwest and civilian contractors surround the three. The ceremony was held for the completion and opening of a new 4.2 million dollar fire station at the Air Station.
