English: Subic, Philippines (Oct. 18, 2006) - A U.S. Sailor from USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49) gives the “thumbs up” during the loading of five Ford F350 ambulances onto a landing craft utility at Subic Bay Freeport. The ambulances, donated through the Promotion of Peace and Prosperity in the Philippines (3P) USA Foundation, a Seattle based-non-governmental agency. The transportation of the ambulances is being conducted as part of Project Handclasp. Harpers Ferry with embarked Marines of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit are part of the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and are in the Philippines to conduct annual bilateral exercises Talon Vision and Amphibious Landing Exercise (PHIBLEX) FY 2007 with the Armed Forces of the Philippines. With "AMBULANCE" in mirror writing ("ECNALUBMA"). |
