English: Mayport, Fla. (June 30, 2006) - Mass Communication Specialist (MC) 1st Class Arthur Delacruz, right, one of the first Sailors in the Navy to wear the new MC-rating badge, addresses members of the legacy ratings during a media ratings merger ceremony held aboard USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67). Kennedy’s Media Officer, Lt. Cmdr. Doolittle, left, spoke on the history of navy rating badges and then presented Delacruz with a custom-made "MC" rating badge in advance of the official production uniform article. Additionally, Delacruz volunteered for the midnight-to-four am quarterdeck watch to be the first "MC" Navy-wide to "assume the watch" displaying the new rating badge that becomes official at midnight, July 1, 2006.
