English: Maura Naval Base, Brunei Darussalam (8 Aug. 2005) - Assistant Boarding Officer, USS Rodney M. Davis (FFG 60), Chief Gunner’s Mate Ross McDonell, left, uses a baton to demonstrate a non-lethal boarding technique on Electronics Technician 2nd Class Ryan Knull during visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) training aboard the ship. Rodney M. Davis boarding teams shared their techniques with Royal Brunei Navy officers and sailors, Brunei Maritime Police, and Brunei Fisheries Department officials, as part of exercise Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) 2005. CARAT is an annual series of bilateral military training exercises with several Southeast Asian nations designed to enhance interoperability of the respective sea services.
