English: Persian Gulf (June 25, 2005) - An F/A-18C Hornet assigned to the "Argonauts" of Strike Fighter Squadron One Four Seven (VFA-147) launches from one of four steam-powered catapults on the flight deck aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70). The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is currently deployed to the Persian Gulf conducting operations in support of multi-national forces in Iraq. USS Carl Vinson (June 25, 2005) -- An F/A-18C Hornet from the "Argonauts" of Strike Fighter Squadron 147 (VFA-147) launches from waist catapult 3 during flight operations on board the Nimitz class aircraft carrier. The Carl Vinson Carrier Strike Group is currently deployed to the Arabian Gulf.
