English: Gonaives, Haiti (Mar. 8, 2005) - U.S. Army Sgt. Victor Serrano of Caguas, Puerto Rico, is carried to a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter, assigned to the 1-207th Alaska Air National Guard. Sgt. Serrano twisted his ankle and was evacuated from his construction site in Gonaives, Haiti, to the United Nations Hospital in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. Sgt. Serrano is a member of the Army's 699th Engineering Battalion based out of Roosevelt Roads, Ceiba, Puerto Rico. Both Army units, along with service members from the Navy, Marines and Air Force, are contributing to New Horizons, a three-month humanitarian and civic assistance project in Haiti sponsored by Commander U.S. Southern Command.
