English: Pacific Ocean (Jan. 20, 2005) – A medical team aboard USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) aids a Sailor's simulated injury during a mass casualty drill held in the hangar bay dring a general quarters (GQ) drill. In the event of an actual casualty, Kitty Hawk’s medical department and qualified stretcher-bearers would render medical attention to injured Sailors, set-up triage areas and transport the wounded. Currently under way in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility (AOR), Kitty Hawk demonstrates power projection and sea control as the U.S. Navy's only permanently forward-deployed aircraft carrier, operating from Yokosuka, Japan.
